How to play

Three to ten people take seat numbers. Each person looks only on their turn, behind a cover. The liar sees the category. Everyone else sees the word. After the talk, each seat votes. If the liar is chosen, they pick the word. After the seats are chosen, enter. A round can be two liars, a liar who receives another word, or a silent round.

Detailed rules

  1. 1.A round has one secret word. Words inside a category do not repeat.
  2. 2.The word is not on screen until that seat asks to look. After looking, hide it and pass the phone.
  3. 3.Talk time is one, three, or five minutes. Voting can start before the clock ends.
  4. 4.A tie, or a winner who is not the liar, means the liar wins.
  5. 5.If the liar is chosen and then names the word, the liar wins. A wrong word means the group wins.
  6. 6.Only seat numbers are used. Names are not collected, and nothing is sent to a server.

Origin & history

One-Phone Liar is a party game: pass one phone, read a secret, and find the liar. The words and categories are OIYO's, written per language. Names and accounts are not stored.
