Ink Ecology — a circle is a spore, a line is legs, wind moves only the eastern spore

Ink Ecology

A circle births a spore on the western empty pond, and a straight stroke stands legs on the eastern empty pond. If a spore is immediately west of those legs, the spore is eaten. Wind pushes only the easternmost spore one pond east, and the spore vanishes if that pond is legs or past the shore. The season ends when the ponds match the mark.

Left or A is the circle, down or S is the wind, right or D is the straight stroke. V changes the view, Esc pauses. East is the right of the screen, and changing the view leaves the life where it is. Legs, once stood, do not leave. This season stays on this screen and is not saved on the device.

How to play

The left of the screen is west and the right is east. A circle births a spore on the western empty pond, and a straight stroke stands legs on the eastern empty pond. A spore immediately west of those legs is eaten. Wind pushes only the easternmost spore one pond east, and that spore vanishes if the next pond is legs or past the shore. Legs, once stood, do not leave. Matching the mark wins. Missing it within 8 strokes loses. The view button does not move the life. This season stays on the screen and is not saved on the device.

Origin & history

Ink Ecology is an original OIYO puzzle in which a stroke becomes a creature. Four seasons were checked by hand; a seed picks one. It uses no map or audio from another game.

FAQ

Does the same seed always build the same season?

Yes. The seed picks one of four seasons that were checked ahead of time. The life is not moved again every frame, so a shared address is the same pond.
