Blackout Courier

How to play

While the lights are on, time stops and the map is visible. Starting the run hides the map for five seconds, and you can move only then. Deliver stops 1, 2, and 3 in order.

Detailed rules

  1. 1.Today's map comes from the Korea Standard Time date. The same day is the same streets.
  2. 2.You cannot walk while the lights are on. Look, memorize, then start.
  3. 3.A blackout lasts five seconds. Only the courier's cell stays on screen.
  4. 4.The delivery order is 1, then 2, then 3. Reaching a later stop early does not count.
  5. 5.A step into a building spends no move. The budget is the shortest route plus six steps.
  6. 6.Spending the budget loses the run. Names and positions are not sent to a server.

Origin & history

Blackout Courier is a daily delivery game: cross a city from memory while the power is out. OIYO builds the map from the date, and the run is not sent to a server.

FAQ

What stays visible in the blackout?

Only the cell where the courier stands. Streets and stop numbers return when the lights do.

Why does time stop when the lights return?

That time is for planning the next blackout, not for walking.
