How to play
Markers are scattered through a 3D space and some of them light up in order. When the lights go out, select them in the same order. As levels rise the markers spread behind you, so use ← → to turn the view and find them. One wrong pick ends the run.
Origin & history
Spatial memory holds on to where something was, not what it was — psychology treats it separately from item memory. In the Atkinson–Shiffrin multi-store model, information entering short-term storage needs rehearsal to reach long-term storage, and positional information is generally held on its own channel, the visuospatial sketchpad. This game is built to let you feel that difference directly.
FAQ
How is this different from a memory match game?
A match game asks which picture it was — item memory. This asks which direction and depth it was — spatial memory. Markers sit behind you too, so flattening the space would remove the task itself.
Can I play with only a keyboard?
Yes. The markers are real buttons: Tab to one and press Enter, and use ← → to turn the view. On browsers without 3D support the same markers are laid out flat and the rules are unchanged.
Are records saved?
Your best score and reached level are stored in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server, and your next run starts at the level you reached.
