Kingdomino
Pick a tile to claim (a lower number moves you earlier next round).
AI policy: score/crowns/order
Record: 0W 0L 0D
How to play
Draft terrain dominoes to expand a 5×5 kingdom around your castle. Each connected same-terrain region scores its size times the crowns inside it.
Detailed rules
- 1.Start from the castle and connect dominoes into a kingdom no larger than 5×5.
- 2.A new tile must touch the castle or a matching terrain to be placed.
- 3.It can't push the kingdom past 5×5; if there's no legal spot, discard it.
- 4.Scoring: each connected same-terrain region = size × its crowns.
- 5.Claiming a lower-numbered tile lets you choose first next round.
- 6.Place every tile for Harmony +5; keep the castle at the centre of your kingdom's 5×5 bounding grid for Middle Kingdom +10, even if some spaces are empty.
Origin & history
Kingdomino is a domino-style kingdom-building game by Bruno Cathala that won the 2017 Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year).
FAQ
How many points is a region with no crowns?
Zero. Score is size × crowns, so a region with no crowns is worth 0 no matter how large. Connecting crowned terrain matters more than sheer area.
Why do the tile numbers matter?
Claiming a lower-numbered tile lets you pick first next round. Strong tiles tend to sit on higher numbers, so weighing 'good tile vs. early turn order' is the core tension.
