Connect Four — Classic Two-Player Strategy Game
Connect Four
🔴 Player 1's turn
How to play
Drop discs into columns; first to connect four in any direction wins.
Create two threats, not one
Connect Four is not only about blocking visible triples. The decisive pattern is a double threat that wins in either of two places next turn, and central columns create more routes.
Pieces stack from below, so an empty cell cannot be judged alone. Calculate which winning square becomes playable when its supporting piece is added.
Origin & history
Connect Four was commercialized by Milton Bradley in 1974 and solved mathematically in 1988 — first player wins with perfect play.
FAQ
Where should the first disc go?
The center column — the solved game shows a first move there wins, while other columns draw or lose.
