Select a block, then move and rotate it. Depth is hidden in the wall shadow, so many structures can make the same silhouette.
How to play
Choose one of five blocks and move it left, right, up, down, forward or back, or rotate it by 90 degrees. You finish when the green current shadow exactly covers the gold target grid. Orbit the camera to inspect hidden depth.
Origin & history
Shadow Architect is an original OIYO 3D spatial puzzle about the difference between a solid structure and its flat projection. One silhouette can have multiple valid structures at different depths.
FAQ
Why can moving forward or back leave the same shadow?
The light points toward the wall along the blocks' depth axis. Voxels at different depths can cover the same wall cell, which permits multiple 3D solutions.
