Poly Bridge Truss Architect — Structural Stress & Bridge Physics Puzzle
🌉 Poly Bridge Truss Architect
Design triangular Road, Wood Truss, and Steel Cable structures within budget so the heavy truck crosses safely
Click a red anchor pin (●) then click empty grid space or another joint to build a beam (or load Auto-Truss Blueprint)
How to play
1) Select a material from the toolbar (🛣️ Road Deck, 🪵 Wood Truss, or ⛓️ Steel Cable). 2) Click a red anchor pin (●) or existing joint on the blueprint, then click another point to build a beam (or click '📐 Auto-Truss Blueprint' to load a reference triangular truss). 3) Click '🚛 Start Stress Test' to drive the heavy truck across and watch real-time stress colors shift from green (safe) to red (100% fracture).
Origin & history
Poly Bridge Truss Architect is an original OIYO structural engineering puzzle inspired by Dry Cactus's hit Poly Bridge. Connect Road Decks, Wood Trusses, and Steel Cables across gorge anchor pins within a strict budget ($), then run the real-time Verlet physics stress test (0% Green to 100% Red fracture) as a heavy cargo truck drives across your bridge.
FAQ
Why are triangular trusses so much stronger than rectangular frames?
A rectangle without a diagonal brace easily shears into a parallelogram under vertical load, whereas a triangle cannot deform without changing the length of its sides—efficiently distributing the truck's weight outward to the pinned cliff anchors!
Where is the most cost-effective place to use Steel Cables?
Steel costs more than Wood but boasts a much higher max span (185px) and strain tolerance (28%). Use economical Wood for upper triangular arches, and reserve Steel for high-stress cliff under-struts or long suspension tower cables!
