FreeCell Card Game
How to play
Use the four free cells as temporary storage to move every card to the foundations.
Detailed rules
- 1.Four free cells (temporary slots) and four foundations (build A→K).
- 2.In the tableau, stack cards in descending order with alternating colors (black 6 on red 7).
- 3.A free cell holds one card temporarily.
- 4.Goal: move every card to the foundations, ace to king by suit.
- 5.How many cards you can move at once scales with empty free cells and columns.
Treat free cells as workspace
Free cells are temporary workspace for exposing blocked cards. Filling all four sharply reduces the sequences you can move, so plan to keep at least one available.
Sending an ace home immediately is not always correct. Moving low cards too early can remove the bridge needed for alternating-color sequences.
Origin & history
FreeCell, first implemented in 1978 and popularized by Windows 95, is a solitaire variant where nearly every deal is winnable.
